![]() MAY 30, 2001 Jan is battling colon cancer, first diagnosed around Christmas 2000. This is Jan's 3rd battle with the disease and the colon cancer is resulting from radiation treatments she received some 22 years ago, when battling neuroblastoma. Unfortunately, the treatments employed in battling cancer at an earlier age, sometimes set one up for secondary cancers later on. At this point Jan is battling colon cancer with mets to her liver. On May 7th she began chemo in hopes of beating back this beast and gaining more precious time with her family. She is married and the mother of two small children and most importantly, Jan is a believer! She knows that when life here is done, God has prepared a place for her in heaven! Please begin to pray for Jan, for the Lord to be gracious and grant her quality time with her loved ones... that daily His presence, His love and his help will be with her and sustain her through these difficult days. SEPTEMBER 3, 2001 Jan's sister Jeanne reported the following news. "Jan saw a oncologist that specializes in the rare type of cancer she has. He cleared his entire morning to meet with her and her hubby. They were there for over 4 hours discussing her medical history, treatments and drug trials. He actually gave her some good news...so good, it is kinda hard to believe. He told her that she has a very slow-growing cancer and that she could go home and contact him in like 3 years for treatment! Can you believe it??? He said the tumors on her liver have most-likely been there since she had the radiation-based cancer in 1991. He said that she could seek treatment now or just wait until she feels crummy. She was thrilled to hear the word 'years' instead of months." WOW!! This is a very good report indeed, and we rejoice with this family! The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.
