DECEMBER 10, 2004
It has been a long time since I did any updating to speak of, here at Legacy. Today it is with sorrow that I share with you. Earlier this week, on December 6, Mary's husband Klaus finished a short and fierce battle with Pancreatic cancer, and went home to be with the Lord early that morning. My heart goes out to my dear friend, Mary. We may not have ever met face to face, but the Lord has surely joined our hearts in love and friendship. It is so very poignant to me, to remember that Mary first agreed to draw the Legacy graphics for me, because her dear friend Sarah had just passed away, with Pancreatic cancer. It was a way to honor Sarah, and to help others on this horrific journey.. a way to turn her pain and grief over losing her friend, into something good that would benefit others.
Over the years we've received many compliments for the Legacy cancer bears! They have been faithful little ambassadors for the Legacy - warming hearts, easing fears, welcoming those who come here for support and encouragement. God Bless you little Nallen Bear, my faithful helper, furry little cancer warrior... and the hands that created you, pixel by pixel.
Mary, I love you. It is so ironic that we met because of Pancreatic cancer. How could we have known it would come into our lives again, in such a way as this? :"( I know we share the hope of heaven and of eternal life with Christ. I know that Klaus also knew this, and believed it, and trusted HIM who is faithful! He is safe at home now! And to us, a journey yet to make.. a race yet to finish, and finish well. May God help you, hold you, carry you when you cannot go another step.. and guide you safely on, as you journey - homeward bound.
BLEST BE THE TIE THAT BINDS -
Love always,
Lynn
If you would like to express your love to Mary, you can visit her graphics website, Mary's Little Lamb and click on "What's New" and scroll to the bottom of that page. There you will find a tagboard, where you can leave her a message.
MARCH 4, 2004
It has been a long time since I added any additional features or pages to the Legacy! I did want to let you know that I am still here, still actively involved in cancer support! In the last year the Legacy has been standing unchanged - offering a safe place on the web for support, offering inspirational scriptures to encourage and strengthen your faith, stories of real people living with cancer.. and some information and resources for you, to help arm you for this fight. While no additional pages have been added, I have been very busy meeting and getting to know a number of you, journeying with many cancer families in a personal way. God has wonderfully enriched my life and blessed me as I have gotten to know many of you. I hope to continue to expand on these precious personal relationships developed as you are drawn to the Legacy and we meet and get to know each other. I love each one the Lord brings across my path here, through these humble pages. It may "look" QUIET around here.. but God is busy at work!! Remember me in prayer, as I remember you!
Warmly in Christ!
Lynn

There have been some updates made to the Prayer Section at Legacy. Please check this page if you are one who prays along with us, for people who are on the prayer list. You will want to note that some who have been on there in the past, and were placed in the "Doing Well" section, are now back on the active prayer list, due to some recurrence of cancer, and some suspicious findings in one, Shantelle. Please check by the prayer page for these updates. And thank you to those who visit regularly and pray along with us!
SEPTEMBER 3, 2002
Today a new name was added to our prayer list at Legacy . . Rachel, a precious little 2 year old was recently brought to Lynn's attention. She is battling Ewing's Sarcoma and her family is very appreciative of all prayers from the body of Christ, for Rachel. Please get to know this youngster and pray for her whole family.
JULY 18, 2002
Today Legacy added a new prayer page to the prayer section. Please take a look at Angela's Prayer Page and remember this dear one in prayer.
Work of switching over our domain is ongoing. You may notice counters that are not correct. We lost all the counter stats except for the main page at Legacy so all counters are being reset. You may also notice that not all pages are changed over to reflect the correct URL - but we're working hard to make the change complete, ASAP! : ) Thanks for your patience!
Also, don't forget the Legacy Cancer Postcard Shop is now open again! These are great cards for encouraging someone you know, who is battling cancer right now. They are also designed for those of us who are well, but would love to hear a kind word from a friend today! Visit soon and send some love!
JULY 15, 2002
We are pleased to announce the grand re-opening of The Legacy Cancer Card Shop! After a long year of having the cardshop closed down due to problems getting our card images hosted, we finally have been able to re-open this popular feature at Legacy. In addition, we are also pleased to announce that "A Legacy of Hope" now has its' own domain on the world wide web! You can find us at www.legacyofhope.org so update those bookmarks! We don't want to lose touch with you!
JULY 1, 2002
Today we placed a prayer page back up, that I had retired to the "Doing Well" section last year. I really hate it when this happens. : ( An old Legacy friend, Mark has recently learned that his cancer is back. Please check by his page as we have moved it into back into that section with those who are currently battling cancer. Pray along with us, that God will be with Mark in this fight and sustain him through it.
MAY 18, 2002
We have added a new prayer page at Legacy. We received word from Beth, that her Mother-inlaw Karen has been diagnosed with cancer. Please click on Karen's name to read about her situation and keep her in your prayers as the Lord reminds you. Thank you PWs and visitors alike, who remember those who are battling, in regular, ongoing prayer. You are a blessing!

Today we have added an organization to our "Legacy Supports" page. "Victoria's Quilts" is a lovely ministry providing handmade quilts for cancer patients. These quilts are lovingly given to provide warmth for both the body and soul. Give them a visit and perhaps you will want to become involved! Tell them you heard about them from "A Legacy Of Hope!"
NOVEMBER 14, 2001
Today I am pleased to add a very worthy ministry to the "Causes We Support" page at Legacy. Go and check out this page if you haven't been in a while. You'll find some wonderful organizations to support and pray for. The organization we are highlighting this month is "Hugs and Hope", a special group dedicated to encouraging children who are battling serious illness. Their work involves YOU! You can be their hands and feet and heart, by visiting the website and getting involved! It won't hurt a bit! : ) And you can make a difference in the life of a sick child!
NOVEMBER 2, 2001
November is "Lung and Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month." Please take time during November to learn more about these agressive killers. For a look at the symptoms of many different types of cancer, click our "Warnings" page and get familiar. Knowledge and early detection most often equals CURE!
SEPTEMBER 26, 2001
Well, we have taken a summer off around here! There has been some udating, though I have not added to the "What's New" page over the summer months. Now that school is back in session, it time to get back to work around here also! I'm in the process of revamping the Prayer Section. If you have a loved one in that section, please remember to send updates to Lynn, as you have them. This will enable us to keep the prayer pages current, and help us to know how to pray for your loved one.
We have several who have been on our prayer list that have completed treatments and are doing well right now. Their pages are current, and I encourage continued prayer for them all, as the first year is the most critical, in terms of relapse. You will find them listed in The Prayer Section under the heading of "Those who have recently completed treatments and are doing well." Several others are in the midst of treatments, or have just completed treatments and are still dealing with the lingering side affects - Lance, Shantelle, Lori, Liz, Jan, Andy, Nita, and Marilyn. These have all been recently updated and we are working on several others, even now. Please visit the Prayer Section and pray for these dear people, as the Lord lays it on your heart to do so.
TIMELESS!
The Word of God is alive. It is profitable for giving us understanding and direction in all areas of life. In times of pain, trouble, uncertainty, fear, sickness, suffering and most certainly death -- the scriptures are a lifeline for our troubled hearts. They give us hope. They bring us peace and comfort. They assure us that though in this world, we shall have troubles, we can persevere with hope for a glorious forever, in heaven with the Lord. Visit our Scriptures to Comfort & Encourage page here at Legacy.
Take a couple of minutes to fill out the Legacy Survey! Let us know what you think of Legacy now, what you'd like to see at Legacy in the future, how we can better serve to encourage and support you on the journey.
Be sure to check this page every visit - all new or updated pages will be listed here.
